The internet is a wonderful place to begin finding outlets and resources for what legal rights you have and how to contact the people who create and implement the law. The following are just a few of the most important legal sources and information links that are available to you:

National Center for Lesbian Rights:
http://www.nclrights.org

The National Center for Lesbian Rights, is a crucial resource for finding information on legal projects and cases that are at the forefront of Lesbian Issues.

Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund:
http://www.lambdalegal.org

Lambda is the nation's "oldest and largest legal organization" fighting the battle for civil rights in all areas of life for lesbians, gay men, and people with HIV/AIDS.  Of particular interest here, please see there section on family:
family index and an article on a case very similar to Lisa Coons-Andersen's visitation rights here.

Queer Legal Resources Directory:
http://www.qrd.org/www/legal

This directory, while not very racy or pretty to look at is extrememly thorough in providing links to state laws and case listings in the United States related to the GLBTA concerns. Just a brief scan provided about five case precedents regarding the issue of custody and visitation of children shared by same sex couples.
Although these cases may only pertain to the state law in where they are tried, the precedent may help you find a way to argue your situation should it come to litgation.

ACLU Lesbian and Gay Rights Project
http://www.aclu.org/issues/gay/hmgl.html

A subsection of the ACLU's freedom network, this site is an excellent resource for all laws and initiatives that have anything to do with the rights and the stifling of those rights for the gay, lesbian, bi, or transgendered community.  The Parenting section is currently near the bottom of the page on the left, but there is a nice overview on the status of gay parenting found here.
PlanetOut.com
http://www.planetout.com/families/

Very up-to-date and abreast of what is going on with the legal issues and political issues concerning the "alternative" family.
other Resources include:

Human Rights Campaign:
http://www.hrc.org

Please find this document on the Human Rights Campaign website:
http://www.hrc.org/familynet/documents/4c75a103.pdf
Please know this does not guarantee legal rights to non-biological parents in most states but it could help with litigation if necessary.

Gay.com:
http://www.gay.com
National Gay and Lesbian Tasck Force (NGLTF)
http://www.ngltf.org

This list is by no means finite, there is a wealth of information out and about on the web, this is simply a starters guide please do not hesitate to let us know so we can add it to the list and maybe help someone else.
